Unchain
Unchain explores the idea of historical continuum through a symbol of both connection and oppression. The chain represents the intertwined and inseparable identities of generations over time, DNA, and the ways power dynamics, cultural norms and gendered expectations change and evolve.
The bronze links are intersected by a neon rod. The glass tube contains gases which when charged emit energy and light, illuminating and bisecting the spaces between the inseparable links.
